Departing from Tirana at 8 am from your Hotel or in front of our office, drive to Kruja. The first stop on this tour is Kruja Castle, a medium-sized fortification located at the highest point of the city. Here you can admire the historical center of Kruja and the nature beautiful nature that surrounds it from this amazing vantage point. Kruja Castle dates back to the time of the Principality of Arber, the 12th century AD. Once inside the castle, you will visit the Skanderbeg Museum, the national historical museum Albania, where you will find documents and facts that tell us about the resistance of the people against the Ottomans. The next stop will be the Ethnographic Museum, where you will be able to explore and understand the traditions of the Albanian people from the Middle Ages till now

After the castle on foot, you will enter the Kruja bazaar area. The ancient market is full of craft shops where you can buy, unique crafts and souvenirs. The bazaar is where the local artisans invite you to take a look at their handicrafts. It is a vibrant mosaic of traditional motifs, fabrics, colors, and warm local hospitality. Free time at Bazaar then continue to drive to Shkodra around 2 hrs drive. Shkodra was the capital of an important Illyrian Kingdom in the 3rd century BC, with its center where the Rozafa fortress is situated today upon entry into the modern city. Shkodra was also the center of the Roman Catholic minority in Albania due to its traditional centuries-old ties with Venice. Italian architecture is present also in the buildings of the beginning of the 20th century. We will take a walk in the newly renovated pedestrian area of Italian and Austrian architectural influences, testimony to this town's historic links with both these countries. Continue to Mesi Bridge this tour takes place a short distance north of Shkodra where you will take in the majestic views of the mountains and rivers while enjoying a historic tale of the Albanian highlands from your guide.
