Jeep Tour to Albania, the Eagle Land, and Jeep Tour to Montenegro, the Black Mountain. This is a trip to breathtaking scenery, fascinating history, unchanged rural farming methods for years, and mountainous people. After many years of seclusion, Albania begins to smile at the tourists, alongside her enchanting Montenegro neighbor who is a gem of beauty, covetable corners, magical views, and lots of nature. This jeep tour is an opportunity to discover a beautiful piece of land that is very close to us.

Itineraries

Day 1

Podgorica Airport – Thethi

After meeting our representative at Podgorica Airport, we pick up the jeeps in front of the Airport. Depart towards Theth situated north of Shkoder in the heart of the Albanian Alps part of the Dinarica range formation which stretches parallel to the Adriatic shore. After crossing the border in Hani Hotit, we will continue through inhabited areas till the village of Boge where the asphalted road ends and where nature takes over. A photo stop is due at the imposing Thore Gorge 1600 km above sea level, offering a gorgeous view of Radohima’s ranges, the second-highest peak of the Albanian Alps. The village of Thethi itself is situated in a wonderful valley surrounded by more than 6 peaks above 2500 meters high. The drive provides great satisfaction with spectacular valleys, gorges, mountains, and rivers. , Picnic Lunch will be served on the way. After arrival and accommodation at the hotel, we will visit Lock-in Tower and hike to Grunasi Waterfall. Dinner at hotel Berisha. Overnight will be at a traditional restaurant/hotel in an old restored stone house. Overnight at Berisha Hotel or Bujtina Polia

Day 2

Thethi - Prekal - Shale - Shkoder

After breakfast, the tour will continue along the valley of Theth to Nderlys village. We will hike to the beautiful Blue Eye pool. Afterward, we will drive about 2 hours climbing towards the mountain of Shoshi. This road has at least 30 years that nobody takes care of. We will eat a picnic lunch at Shoshi Mountain. Continue to Shkodra city, the most important city of north Albania and the Illyrian capital, in the 3rd century BC. Just before Shkodra we take a deviation to head slightly northeast of the town to visit the Mesi Bridge an arched stone bridge of the 18th century with a wonderful mountain panorama as a backdrop. Afterward, drive to Shkodra a city of considerable Italian and Austrian influence and also an important center of Albania’s Roman Catholic population. We will take a walk in town through the beautifully restored pedestrian area of Italian architectural influences and will visit the Roman Catholic Cathedral, one of the few in the country before the abolition of faith by the communist regime in 1967. Day 3

Shkoder - Koman Lake - Fierze - Valbone

This morning after an early breakfast we make our way to Koman to take the ferry to Fierza in the Tropoja region bordering Kosovo. The building of a hydropower station on Albania’s biggest river, Drin, has created the artificial lake of Koman, with a wonderful opal green watercolor, while surrounded by the high Rocky Mountains. If you didn’t know that you were in North Albania you could very well assume you were in a Norwegian Fjord, as the panoramas of this two-hour navigation are simply breathless. After getting off the ferry there will be about 30 minutes drive to arrive at Valbona valley which stands almost back to back with Theth, which we visited the previous day. From Valbona Valley, we will drive for 1 hour off-road to reach Cerem village, which is close to the Montenegro border. Will have traditional lunch in a villager's home. Afterward, we will drive to Valbona. After accommodation at the hotel, free time to explore nature. Overnight at Hotel Margjeka

Day 4

Valbona - Has – Prizren - Kukes - Kruja

Today we take a wonderful drive through mountains and forests to reach the town of Prizren after crossing the border to Kosovo. There will be plenty of stops on the way in spectacular natural spots to take in nature as well as take photos. Visit Prizren old city, fortress, stone bridge, and Sinan Pasha Mosque. We will have a picnic lunch on the way. Drive to Kruja, which is known as the "city of history" and the best known as the hometown of Albanian's National Hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg. Start the tour with the visit to the Castle which was built during the 5th and 6th A.D. The surrounding walls are reinforced by nine towers, which served as an observation and signaling post during times of war. Within the walls of the castle, there can still be found the remains of a few houses. Visit Skanderbeg Museum. Free time to visit the Old Bazar. Diner at Panorama Hotel and folk music and dance show. Overnight at Hotel Panorama

Day 5

Kruja – Qafe Shtame – Bovilla Lake - Cobo Winery -Berat

After breakfast, we drive to the National Park of Qafe Shtame then continue off-road to Bovilla lake where we will have our picnic lunch. Afterward, drive to Cobo Winery to have a tour in the winery. Then continue to Berat, which is enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage site, and visit Mangalem district, Gorica district, Kings Mosque, and Helveti Tekke. Dinner at Mangalem restaurant. Overnight at Hotel Onufri/ or Mangalem

Day 6

Berat - Elbasan - Tirane

After breakfast, we drive up to Berat castle. Once there by walking on the cobbled stone streets, you may see several medieval Orthodox churches and have a spectacular view of Osumi River, Shpirag, and Tomorri Mountain. Visit Onufri Museum - The Museum is called “Onufri”, in honor of the Albanian painting Headmaster of the XVI Century. The Cathedral is rebuilt in 1797, and it is the most representative monument of post-Byzantine architecture in Berat town. Visit the Aqueduct and Holy Trinity church. Then drive to Belsh region where there are 84 lakes. We will have a picnic lunch in one of them. Continue traveling to Elbasan and visit the old city inside of castle walls. Just a suggestion is to taste a local drink known as “Boza”, a favorite one during communist time. Continue to Tirana. After accommodation at the hotel, we start the city walking tour by visiting the New Bazar, Martyrs of Nation Boulevard, Blloku area, Mother Theresa square. Dinner in one restaurant in the Blloku area. Overnight at Hotel White Dream

Day 7

Tirana- Lezha- Mrrizi I Zanave - Shkodra- Niagara waterfall - Podgorica Airport

After breakfast, we walk to the downtown of Tirana, in Scanderbeg Square from where you can see the National Historical Museum, Opera House, Central Bank of Albania, and the statue of Scanderbeg. Visit the Anti-Atomic Attack nuclear bunker, the Bunk’Art2 museum in Tirana opened to the public describing it as a museum throwing light on political persecution during the Albanian communist era. The museum – called Bunk’Art 2 – is also intended as a memorial to the tens of thousands of people who were imprisoned and executed by the communist regime. Take the bus to continue to Lezha towards Agro- tourism “Mrrizi I Zanave” restaurant. We will enjoy lunch by eating different local food and visiting Agro-tourism production departments where cheese, jams, hams, and wine are produced. Afterward, we drive to the north of Albania, crossing the border to Montenegro, and make a stop at Niagara Fall. Then we travel to Podgorica Airport- end of the services
